Welcome from the President

CSKLS exists to serve as a catalyst for individuals interested in integrating the Christian faith into the disciplines of kinesiology and leisure studies. The task of integration is much more than articulating the interactions of faith and human movement/leisure. Rather full integration is moving toward what Jesus taught his disciples to pray for – namely, that God's perfect rule and reign as experienced in heaven be likewise realized within each domain of our life on earth (Matt 6:9-13).

The task is large and the workforce small. My desire and appeal to each member in this organization is to bring "a couple loaves and a small fish to the table, and let us watch God take our humble efforts and feed others.” So if you are reading this and have never attended a CSKLS conference, join us this year at Indiana Wesleyan June 7-9, 2012 to engage in some integrative conversations. If you have attended, and never presented, consider thoughtfully preparing a presentation proposal that expresses how the Christian faith can be fleshed out within your discipline. If you have presented but have never published in our on-line journal, consider crafting an article that outlines the alignment of faith and practice within your area of expertise.

Whoever you are, I invite you to bring two things to this society. First and foremost, bring a hunger to experience the fullness of God’s kingdom within our respective disciplines. Second, bring what you can so that we can all have a feast at God’s banquet table.
